Background
The scenographic art exhibition »Science+Fiction« deals with the cultural connections between the arts and sciences and is being shown as an international travelling exhibition in both art museums and science museums. Similar to a cabinet of curiosities from the Renaissance, when the arts and sciences were not yet clearly separated, images, objects, and media reports on science are juxtaposed with works of art.
The design and presentation aesthetics of the exhibition must fit well into the ambience of the different museum spaces. To this end, gewerkdesign developed an architectural grid system that staged the exhibition as an experiment and invited scientists and artists to integrate their topics and ideas into a kind of formal matrix.
