Background
The signage system around Brodowin village aims to blend into nature and the landscape, creating awareness for what is there. It doesn’t merely guide the groups of visitors but wants to provide help to better understand Brodowin, the scenery surrounding the village, Brodowin’s organic farming, its history, and its inhabitants. It serves to enrich the experience of those who would like to explore the nature reserve attentively and respectfully. The boulder stone symbolising both the scenery and the village that was founded here, stone is a material deeply rooted in the scenery surrounding Brodowin. The boulders contain information and provide seating space and climbing adventures for children of all ages. Large, round, paint coated metal signs leaning against the rocks show maps and provide information on the three hiking trails and two nature trails that wait to be explored. Smaller metal signs embedded into the boulders provide additional information, such as the code of behaviour for the nature reserve, orientation, or brief information about animals, plants, or the work of the Brodowin eco-village society.
