The new Visitor Centre in Wismar is dedicated to the city’s Hanseatic architecture and its classification as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Traces of the historical building periods uncovered during the building’s renovation have been prepared to explain the city’s architectural heritage to visitors. Together with the design of the exhibition and the communication concept developed by gewerkdesign and hneun, the building itself and its unique architectural history are the main exhibits in the Visitor Centre. In the centre of the rooms, multimedia tables present further issues connected to the world heritage of Wismar.
