gewerkdesign is an interdisciplinary design studio. We conceive and realise content-driven, audience-focused and integral projects for our clients. Even the most challenging topics are communicated with sensitivity and precision. Unique design products with a focus on sustainability are created for collaborations and on our own behalf. We also explore topics at the intersection of design and art to broaden horizons and inspire new ideas.
We develop our bespoke design solutions, with a particular focus on the conceptual phase, in close collaboration with our clients. We put together our teams flexibly in line with the project phases, placing great emphasis on project and production management. With this management expertise and our knowledge of design solutions, we ensure maximum creativity, always within the agreed time and budget frames. For specific requirements, we have access to a specialised network. This enables us to reliably achieve high-quality and long-lasting results that are always individually tailored to our clients’ project objectives.
We oversee projects throughout all phases of the HOAS process, from the preliminary research through conceptualisation and design to implementation.
At the start of the design process, it is essential to gain a thorough understanding of a task’s complexity – through attentive listening, analytical observation and realistic process planning. Only by working together, it is ensured that a project’s potential and momentum truly unfold. Workshops and collaborative communication on eye level are the means we use to achieve this.
The design concept encompasses the overarching guiding principle, tailored to the intended content, the framework conditions and the objectives, which the design implementations follow. Ideally, the design concept can be applied to all dimensions of design – spatial, graphic, physical and digital. This results in a cohesive whole that is comprehensive, distinctive and unique in its impact.
Building on the preliminary research and the concept, our interdisciplinary teams work closely with the clients to define a design solution and select the appropriate creative means. This approach is effective, time-saving and cost-efficient for all involved.
For the implementation, we bring the necessary experience, reliability and perseverance to the table. Our projects are built to last because we place great importance on sustainability in both content and materials. As a result, many of our clients have been working with us for years, utilising a range of our services and entrusting us with the management of their projects through every stage of development.

Our company name has defined us since our foundation in 1992. At gewerkdesign, the creative community takes centre stage, much like a »Gewerk« – a guild comprising specialised trades. Thinking of the »gewerk« [in English: trade, discipline] in the context of design led us to the name gewerkdesign. For us, it is the most apt description of our interdisciplinary design approach. To emphasise its uniqueness, the terms »gewerk« and »gewerkdesign« have been protected by trademark law since 2008.
