In her biography "Fiona Bennett: Vom Locken der Federn. Ein Leben als Modistin, Muse, Stilikone" (Fiona Bennett: Allure of the Feather. A Life as Milliner, Muse, Style Icon), Berlin-based milliner Fiona Bennett, together with author Eva Sichelschmidt, recounts her unconventional life and unique career.
This atmospheric publication evokes the feel of a diary and thrives on the close interplay between personal texts, documents, and images. Through her engaging account of Bennett’s career, a vivid picture is painted of the capital’s recent, eventful history and Berlin’s dynamic creative scene.
Fiona Bennett decided against an elaborately staged coffee-table book. Instead, gewerkdesign developed a understated book design in the format of a novel. The approximately 130 photos included in the volume come from the milliner’s personal collection, and some were taken specifically for the biography by photographers such as Joachim Gern and Ulrike Schamoni.
