Background
The exhibition »gedenken gestalten« in the glass courtyard of the Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts presents the results of several previous meetings and workshops.
It reflects the complex challenges of contemporary memorial design, intricately merging impacts and functions of a memorial site. gewerkdesign presented previous of their memorial design projects in an exhibition space separated by packaging tape: Bautzen II Memorial; Münchner Platz Memorial in Dresden; Documentation Centre of the Berlin Wall; Hohenschönhausen Memorial; Pirna Sonnenstein Memorial. The texts surrounding the projects elaborated on the demands and challenges for contemporary memorial design.
